I Dreamt a Forest

Edward Lee

3 Questions for Edward

What was your process for creating this work?

They originally began as sketches in my notebook. Then I did pastel drawings of them, before painting them digitally.

What is the significance of the form/genre you chose for this work?

I normally work with oil paint on canvas, but for various reasons I have been painting digitally using various software. These images were created using Procreate, a wonderful app. I have recently stepped back into physical painting (currently acrylic) so I imagine I will slowly step away from digitally painting.

What is the significance of this work to you?

These images are concerned with the meeting of the architecture of the natural world with the architecture of emotion and memory.
