Comic: The Sad Story of Doctor Jelly

Santiago

3 Questions for Santiago

What was your process for creating this work?

For this story, I spent a few hours searching the internet for magazines which were accepting comic strips. I then drew out all the panels and came up with a silly title. After that I spent a few hours drawing a draft of the comic and making the final version seen in the magazine.

What is the significance of the form you chose?

I love comics, they're one of my favorite mediums.

What is the significance of this work to you?

The purpose of this comic is to remind myself to show people the projects I am working on, even if they are not completed. This comic started when I was reading about animators who spend decades on projects without them getting released (even though that was the intention), and that was embarrassing because I was supposed to be working. It was also embarrassing because I have also spent a lot of time on projects which I never show people, which is something I have to change.

Santiago likes to cook hearty meals for his family and friends. He cannot be reached at the moment because he has an ant bite on his thumb which needs his full attention.
