Edward Lee

Three Questions for Edward

What is the significance of this work to you?

These works are an companion pieces to the oil painting I do. They, like the paintings, concern themselves with no matter how much we see in regards to a person or an idea, there is much we do not see.

What is the significance of the form you chose for this work?

Due to various circumstances I am limited in my access to oil paints and canvas. While that is the case, these digital images allow me to explore the ideas they deal with, while also restricting me in how much I can actually accomplish. There are various softwares I use, but for these images I used Adobe Illustrator and set rules as to what I could do.

What was the process for creating this work?

As with all my art, there was a preliminary sketch, which I then capture on my computer.
